We had a great time with our good friends, Kevin & Leslie & family, on Monday. They invited us to go with them on a little adventure. We rode with them on their boat over to Cape Lookout. We had such a great time. It was about a 20-30 minute ride over to the lighthouse from Beaufort. We have a new appreciation for the term "small craft advisory". The weather man sometimes reports this and I usually don't pay much attention to it. The weather was beautiful and sunny, but out on the water it was a little rough and windy. The ride got a little bumpy and we were all soaked by the time we got to the lighthouse. But still, really fun. We would all scream and laugh when the water splashed up and sprayed us. All because of Tropical Storm Hanna which is still a long long ways away. (It is amazing that it can still have an effect on us even it is a thousand miles away.) We grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, flew kites, threw the football, etc... It was so fun. On the boat ride home we saw wild horses that live on the islands near the lighthouse. These horses are so amazing. They live at the beach on the island. They eat grass and sea oats. I am really bummed that we didn't get pictures. I had packed my camera safely away so that it would not get wet. But we saw about 10 horses. So cool.
Kelly riding up front....she got really wet!

What a great spot!

That is so cool! Remember when we'd go boating up at Pineview in the summer mornings with Nicky W.'s and her boat? Also, do you remember when we went to Bear Lake on our senior trip and we got stuck out on the lake? I know it was because it was on Sunday that we went boating!
Okay, watch out for Hannah. Hope she doesn't come for a visit!
i am jealous - looks so fun! It would have been nice to go over in your own boat and not on public transportation!
Have a good week.

Looks fun! I pray that the 3 hurricanes in line will leave you alone! Love ya.
