Field Day
Friday was Field Day at school. I was there to help the PTO serve lemonade and water. They had different stations and activities for the kids to do. It was nothing like the Field Day's that I remember as a kid. No three-legged race, no sack race. But, it was still fun for the kids I guess. It was really hot and since I was serving fresh squeezed lemonade to all the teachers and volunteers, I was very busy. Nate's teacher took this great picture of him having fun on the bouncy balls. (Is that what you call them?) Anyway.... here it is!

Sounds fun...and busy. Nate looks like he was having fun.
I don't know what those balls are called. jumping something?
Cool bouncy ball. We called ours a hippity hop but that was because it had a horse head on it so i don't know what they really call those things!
What is it about field day that kids absolutely love? Is it the being out in the hot hot for hours on end and being herded around like sheep to play a game but not really declare a winner because everyone is a winner? But really they love it and it is their favorite day of the year.
My friend BS's little boy told his little Kindergarten sister - you don't even know how much to be excited because you have never been! Pretty much sums it up.
But why do the mother's all hate it and dread it so????
I do not heart field day. And this year I didn't even volunteer to serve lemonade. You are good. And you, too, one day will hate it enough to not volunteer to serve the lemonade.
My comment is almost as long as your post. Sorry bout that.
